Mike Green Marshall Scouting Report

Mike Green Marshall Scouting Report

There are a number of risers in the NFL Draft process every year. This season, Marshall's Mike Green has burst onto the scene as one of the biggest. Once an under the radar pass rusher in the Sun Belt conference, Green has skyrocketed up draft boards thanks to a dominant final season and an impressive pre-draft process.

Here's why Mike Green is a surefire top-50 2025 NFL Draft pick:

Explosive Athleticism & Pass Rushing Prowess

Green's game is built on speed, power and relentless effort. Standing at 6'4, 251 pounds (Senior Bowl measurements), he blends elite first-step quickness with refined hand usage to create constant pressure off the edge. Green's ability to bend around tackles and finish plays will translate directly to NFL success.

Functional Strength & Power at the Point of Attack

While Green’s speed stands out, his power shouldn’t be overlooked. He plays with a strong base and excellent leverage, allowing him to hold up against the run and convert speed to power when rushing the passer. His ability to forklift linemen back into the quarterback gives him a well-rounded skill set that fits any defensive front.

In his final collegiate season, Green posted an FBS-high 17 sacks with 23 tackles for loss. His quick get-off and natural leverage allow him to win with speed, but he also has the strength to bull-rush offensive linemen, as he displayed at the Senior Bowl.

Why Green is a Top-50 Prospect

The NFL Draft process is about momentum, and Green has plenty of it. A strong showing at the Senior Bowl helped him solidify his status as an early Day 2 pick, while his athletic testing at the Combine should push him even higher.

With his blend of production, athleticism, and upside, Mike Green has gone from a relative unknown to one of the most intriguing edge rushers in the 2024 NFL Draft.

  • Explosive athlete, athleticism to chase down backside runs.
  • Flexibility to turn the corner even against the best competition
  • Excellent ability to diagnose, often beating backside run plays when unblocked
  • Offenses almost always avoided running to his side
  • Excellent explosive burst and first step off the line of scrimmage
  • Often chases down ball-carriers running to opposite side
  • Great hand usage to shed blocks

Green plans to work out for team's at Marshall's Pro Day on March 24th. Should his athleticism pop in the 40-yard dash and agility drills, Green will stake his claim as a certified first-round NFL Draft pick.
